After shaking up the world of Twitter in a bizarre hostile takeover on Monday, billionaire Tesla founder Elon Musk has revealed a new target on Coca-Cola.
In yet another abnormal tweet, newfound Twitter owner Musk announced that he planned to buy Coca-Cola next "to put the cocaine back in".
Later on, Musk posted a screenshot of a previous tweet where he mentioned "Now I'm going to buy McDonald's and fix all the ice cream machines," and jokingly counter to himself with "Listen, I can't do miracles ok".
Known for his weird statements, Musk's reputation on Twitter lead up to him -- and did so far before he bought the company. Previously, Musk has polled Twitter users, interrogating if he should sell 10% of his Tesla stock in order to pay for suppressed capital gains, following which he actually sold off nearly $7 billion in Tesla shares when over 57% of poll participants voted in the esteem of his suggestion.
The Tesla founder tweeted a series of schemes that he believed could raise the scale of the platform, with some appearing dedicated -- like the possibility of introducing an edit button -- while others seemed to be strange, such as turning Twitter's San Francisco headquarters into a homeless shelter.
His most recent Coca-Cola tweet is not entirely visible given his history of manifesting his fantastic social media statements. It is a nod to the veteran beverage company's colorful history with cocaine. Coca-Cola's legendary trademark soft drink is named after its two prime ingredients: coca leaves and kola nuts. While kola nuts are a great source of caffeine, coca leaves are the source from which the psychoactive drug cocaine is extracted.
Cocaine-overloaded coca leaves used to be an integral ingredient in the carbonated soft drink's formula, back in the 19th century when the material was considered medicinal. However, cocaine was diminished from Coca-Cola's secret formula and instead replaced with decocainized coca leaves.
